Speak! # 1, "The Strange Case of Gregory Dingham" (April 2005, Tom Russell) is the first Eightfold publication, ever.
It introduces Gregory Dingham, who wakes up one morning with the ability to make things happen simply by saying them. After accidently killing his mother and giving his girlfriend an orgasm, he tests the limits of his new-found powers-- no levitation!, no conjuring things out of thin air!-- and waffles on what, precisely, he's going to do with them.
What he finally decides-- more from compulsion and a lack of decision more than anything else-- is to rob a bank and leave town.
Unlike the rest of Speak!, which is largely written in present-tense and second-person, this first issue employs a more traditional past-tense and second-person approach.
